The Great Digging of Moscow 2017. A step back

So, the Great Digging of Moscow in 2017 is over, re-digging also seems to have been completed, and the shoals after rushing and re-digging have been eliminated.
You can watch, compare, draw conclusions: has it become better or worse? Not for nothing that they dumped money dumpers?
The fact that the city is doing better and more modern is certainly very cool and stupid to disagree with it (I’m talking about those who are against renovations).
That's just in the desire to do better the main thing - do not overdo it.
What do we see in the photo below? No, not Moscow in 2007, when half of the city was parked on the sidewalks and there was real chaos everywhere. We see the updated Moscow in 2017 and ... again parking on the sidewalks.
Yes, of course, this motorists are so bad, they put their buckets everywhere.
Without justifying drivers for a frank violation of traffic rules, I still want to swear at those who decided to make narrower streets of the center even more narrow for motorists.

Before reconstruction, on Trubnaya Street, where I live, there was almost twice as much space for cars: a lane for traffic and a lane for parking. Now, the lane for traffic was “shifted” to the right and almost completely deprived of the lanes for parking. Left only sidebars in some places, almost three times reducing the number of parking spaces.
I wonder what motivated the authors in this idea? Ok, they moved the road to the right, having increased the width of the pedestrian zone on one side. Well, well, why was it to shred the parking lane? If it was removed at all, just expanding the pedestrian, it would be understandable. But no, on the right they made small parking pockets for 2-3 cars. As a result, there is no more space for pedestrians, because "their territory" territory is narrowed, then expanded, forcing all the same to go through bottlenecks where there are parking pockets. That is, in extended areas, in principle, there is no point.
A car on Trubnaya eventually park is simply nowhere. As on the adjacent streets and alleys, where the same principle is applied.
So they put them on the sidewalks again, as in the past decade, closing the rooms from the Parkon’s cameras.
I do not know what you think, but I consider a similar reconstruction a step backwards.
Taking care of pedestrians is good, but everything has to be done with the mind, not bending the stick and not causing inconvenience to other road users.
P.S.
