Population of Vologda: the number and national composition

It got its name due to its location on the Vologda river of the same name. It should be noted that this city is special. At the same time, more than half of them, and this is 128 units, are under the protection and protection of the state.

The population of Vologda during the years of the revolution and civil war in the early 20th century changed greatly. The largest number of inhabitants in this city was recorded in 1988 and reached 306 thousand people.After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the number of residents gradually began to fall, because life made its own adjustments. In this regard, the birth rate has dropped significantly. It should also be noted that no matter how the economic situation stabilizes, the population growth was not positive after the collapse of the USSR.
